Canine Diarrhea
All dogs have at least one bout of diarrhea in their lifetime and if you have never experienced this with your pet consider yourself very lucky. Soft stool is very common in puppies but not in most adult animals.
Canine diarrhea is often a result of other problems within it. It has more serious symptoms like fever, vomiting, bloating, lethargy, or dehydration you should seek the help of an animal care professional. The veterinarian will teach you how to treat it if they have simply eaten something that they should not have and have this condition.
You should take note of its behavior and tell the veterinarian if the symptoms persist for more than a week. If you wish to treat the dog before sending it to the vet, first try cutting its food intake in half. Try not to feed it food that you eat. Its digestive system cannot process the food that we eat properly especially sweet things and complex carbohydrates.
This is one of the reasons that feeding human food to dogs is not advisable. Their recommended foods are the only food types that contain all the necessary nutrition that their body needs.
You could administer a probiotic like Lactobacillus Sporogenes, which is a bacterium that can restore the healthy bacteria in your it’s intestinal tract. Feed it a bland diet formula of two parts rice one part lean meat. This remedy is preferred over commercial food brands because it’s low in fat and it’s bland.
Canine diarrhea may be an indication of more serious problems in your pet like Inflammatory Bowel Disease, which can lead to a very serious bowel problem later on. Be sure to have it treated. Your dog may be unable to communicate with you verbally but you know when its actions are consistent with pain or sadness.
