Dog Ailments
Man’s best friend is known for his wagging tail and for the bundle of joy he brings into our lives. When you think of dogs you probably think of them running and playing, or in the case of more industrious breeds maybe hunting or herding. However you picture them it’s probably a picture that involves activity and friskiness, but sometimes pet ailments sap the energy and enthusiasm from man’s best friend.
As are human, pets are capable of experiencing a wide-range of ailments. Some illnesses are similar to ones suffered by humans, some are the same and then there are some that are unique to canines. In any event, the important thing to remember is that dogs are susceptible to injury and illness and thus they need routine checkups just like humans.
It’s usually not difficult to tell when something is wrong with it. Drooping ears and tail, lethargic behavior and a general lack of energy are often easily seen signs, warning of ailments. And of course, other physical ailments may be even more obvious. If your pet is limping that’s a good indication that he has an injury that needs to be attended to.
This condition can include such series diseases as heartworm, rabies, distemper and parvovirus. These conditions can be prevented with regular visits to the veterinarian and by maintaining vaccinations. Providing a healthy diet for your four-legged friend can also help fend off any potential health issues.
Dogs bring such joy to our lives. The least we can do is help them avoid serious illnesses, so they can live a healthy and happy life.
